On December 5th-6th, the 2023 Recycling Industry Entrepreneur Summit, organized by the China Recycling Resources Recycling and Utilization Association, was successfully held in Xiamen. Over 400 representatives from supervisory departments of the recycling resources industry, industry organizations, supply and marketing cooperatives in some provinces and cities, well-known enterprises, research institutions, and media gathered to discuss industry development and cooperation.

Ge Shuyuan, Chairman of China Recycling Resources Group Co., Ltd., pointed out in his keynote speech that in recent years, China's recycling resources industry has developed rapidly. Traditional resource recycling industries have achieved scale, and emerging recycling resources such as retired power batteries, photovoltaic modules, and discarded wind turbine blades are actively developing. This further expands the scope of recycling to the field of new energy. The recycling resources industry has become an important force for ensuring China's resource security, a driving force for achieving the "dual-carbon" goals, and a crucial support for China's green development.

He noted that under the century-old changes, green and low-carbon development is entering a "new opportunity." Major economies around the world generally regard the development of the circular economy as a fundamental path to solve resource and environmental constraints, climate change, and foster new economic growth. Recently, China and the United States issued the "Sunshine Home" statement, expressing the determination to end plastic pollution and work with all parties to formulate a legally binding international document on plastic pollution (including marine plastics and marine environmental plastic pollution). He expressed that in the new situation, recycling resource enterprises should focus on innovative development, empower specialized, refined, scaled, high-quality, and high-value development through "full industry chain + full life cycle." He shared three insights with the representatives present: firstly, keeping in mind the "greatness of the country" and jointly advancing green and low-carbon development; secondly, forming strong alliances with complementary advantages to play a "combination punch" in the development of the industry chain; thirdly, gathering the forces of high-quality development to seek common strategies for industry development.
